Pattern Quest

This month, there are so many quest on our mailing list for crochet and knitting project. One of them is quest to make a square and its pattern by-self based on a finished crochet item gave by moderator. Of course as an eager-to-participate member I take a part in

I have a picture in mind that I can resolve the quest immediately, so I make a sketch of it. Unfortunately I couldn’t spare a time to make it until yesterday :-( Now…, there is it! I submit my pattern and the picture of my finished item.

Well, maybe it’s not a neat one but perhaps I make it right I try to make diagram pattern and text pattern, so if there any mistake please tell me :-)

KAL Project-Daily Flower Scarf

Ok, finally I finished my KAL project last week :D The project is held by dinamic crochet mailing list for October. But , because of Ied celebration the due time is postponed untul November. It’s nice, actually the pattern is not my choice, I’d prefer to choose another pattern on vote… but in fact, the result is nice ! It’s a nice motif scarf, my first scarf using other stitch beside knit and purl :D >- there are knit2tog, yarn over, purl2tog, knit3tog, sl 1 k2 psso, p2tog tbl, and ssk. And for the truth… it’s more easy compare with cable stitch

I used 2 ball of pink rayon cotton running together to make this scarf. Due to the yarn characteristic I used, it seems that I need to do more blocking to make it more steady… I mean not curl in when wear it. Maybe it’s better to combine rayon cotton with cotton yarn together. I’ll try next time.

I finished this scarf a time before visiting my grandpa, eldest and youngest Aunty…, and as predicted before my youngest Aunty struck on it as the color of the scarf is the same with crochet bag that my mom made for her :D What a coincidence! So I’m promise her to make one smaller, with 1 yarn only before my cousin wedding next month in Padang :D She wants to wear it at that time

First Cal Project

Phew! Finally it finish :D Yup, it’s my September CAL project with my mailing list friends. Thanks God I can finish it  on  the last day of this September I did it 100% finish on a car ride at Bandung, visiting my mother-in-law who get ill last week.

Considering my stash, I made this bag with uncommon color combination. My friend  call it a weirdo color when saw the WIP, but when it almost finish she struck on it and make a bargain to have it :P But it’s pretty bag actually, isn’t it? I used brown, pink and coffe-milk cotton yarn and a small amount of bali-cotton (Indonesian Cotton Thread ) left from my tunisian bag project.

This bag made in  crochet method with single crochet (sc) sticth for the body, but I combine it with tapestry crochet at some rows to make a dotted effect.  To fill the handles I used “tali tambang” instead of cording. To make a connection between the body, handles and ovelay and also to keep the color harmony, I added 1 row extra in brown on top of bag’s body. You can see it at the inside part of bag… I think it’s a sweet lining

So, here I’m … ready to show off my bag. Maybe I have to spare an extra time to lining the body to make it more firm.

Recycled Box for Stash

Phew…, my speed of buying yarn actually a “little” bit faster than my speed for working the project :P Just look at the picture below, that’s some of my yarn collections. Now, it starts to annoy me to manage it neatly :\”>. As I don’t have a special room to work with and keep my handcraft item, so I have to manage it without meshing up my home.

Buying container or other household to keep it is not a good answer… and then I got an almost-no-cost idea to solve it ;-) Make recycled box from any box I got when buy any product! You just need a box (cereal box, detergent box etc), wrapping paper/old-calendar paper and glue or cellotape.

WIP CAL Project

Gosh…, maybe I’m the slowest member who participating in CAL Project in our mailing list Until yesterday, Friday morning, I’m still doing my 35 rows (about 11cm) of this project. Actually the number of rows to make is up to us as we modified the yarn used from this project. For its width of 22cm I don’t decided yet the height of this bag. Perhaps I make it 22×22 cm which is mean I still have 35 more rows to go #-o.

There’s a problem I’m gonna face. I just have 1 ball of brown yarn and have used half of it, considering that I still need that color to make the upper row and the handles. So I used pink and coffe-milk yarns to alternate the need. Ok, just design the best pattern I can do. Perhaps I can make a pretty bag at the end. Any comment?

First Tunisian Bag

Here we go…, it’s my first tunisian project and my first bag project. It also my first project for a competition among member of dinamic-crochet mailing list :D

The idea to make a tunisian bag come when mbak Thata informed us about tunisian stitch some called it afghan stitch… and when she got the hook to share with, I bid it for the first time considered that the hook is rare here in Indonesia :D Just full filling my treasury case

I used 2 balls of soft-balinesse-blend-cotton yarn with 2 balls of white cotton yarn together to get a thick stitch. The combination of this 2 kind of yarn makes a beautiful result. As my habit to try many stitch in one project, so I used tss (tunisian simple stitch), tdc/dts (tunisian double crochet/double tunisian stitch) and tks (tunisian knit stitch), just take a look at the picture, tks, tdc and tss used up down.

MT Coaster

Pfffff, akhirnya selesai juga nih bikin coaster dari project MT Coaster asuhannya mbak Lenny. Ceritanya beberapa waktu yang lalu mbak Lenny menggelar project MT (Mistery Thread), berhubung bikin coaster (kecil kan) langsung deh daftar jadi perserta pertama. Ealah selesainya urutan buntut … :”> jadi malu… hiks

Coaster yang terdiri dari 8 row ini unik, karena row 5-8 overlap alias tumpang tindih. Jenis tusukan yang dipakai simple kok cuma ch, sc, dc, sl st, sama tr. Hihihihi, yang baca pusing ya Ini contekannya:

Project Merajut Bareng

Akhirnya…, kurang lebih itu kata mbak Lenny via email beberapa hari lalu. Yup saya dan bundanya Azka ini beberapa waktu yang lalu janjian bikin project merajut bareng… istilahnya knitting along kalau gak salah. Kita kenalan di milis mari_merajut…, email-emailan terutama pas banjir besar kemarin karena keluarga mbak Lenny tinggal di daerah yang kena banjir. Nyaris mau kopdar waktu mudik tapi sayangnya gagal, trus saya juga dikirimin paket dari Jepang. Mbak Lenny juga selalu support saya via email waktu mas Riyo habis kecelakaan. Makasih ya Bunda Azka

First Sold Brown Brooch

Yup, my yarn-and-neddle hobby finally earn me its first income :X Remember my first brooch and gift set crochet brooch I made for my friends? Yes, Utha requested a brown one when I gave the blue one for her because her outfit were came in brown.

And when the brown yarn package came last week, I made the brooch in time :D When finished I send her a message as notification. Today, when I arrive at campus, she have waited for the brooch in brown outfit. So here’s the transaction, and my first handcraft sold <:-p

The brooch was packaged in a handmade box with a logo stamp as the trademark. See the stamp? It’s our stamp since 2000 when we create our own wedding invitation

Ok, plan to work on the next order…, just find the right yarn to start it
